The evening began with the beautiful piano music provided by Kyle Shaffee and Peppy Wong. Both gifted musicians from the Orange County Highschool for the Arts. Next we had a wonderful Southwest Dinner Buffet. After dinner special presentations were made to each of the members in attendance. Each received a special gift that thanked them for their time and energy given to the OCBFC in the organization's effort to, "Make Breastfeeding the Cultural Norm." Laurence Obaid was recognized as the Founding Mother of the OCBFC and given a very special engraved crystal cube. We wouldn't be here if it were not for the organizational efforts of Laurence. Nancy Clifton-Hawkins was presented with a special recognition award in honor of her long service as the President of the OCBFC. Virginia Bernal, our unoffical historian, made a incredible presentation on the history of the OCBFC. We hope to have that available on this website soon. Virginia's talents in the area of oral history are amazing. She is such a wonderful story teller. For the last hour of this special night, we relaxed and swayed to the soothing jazz music of the Ashlee Johnson Trio. What a great way to celebrate 10 years of togetherness. If you didn't make it to the birthday party, you were missed. We at the OCBFC acknowledge the interrelationship we all have with one another. We are grateful for all you have given to the OCBFC. We look forward to another 10 years of fruitful and exciting collaboration!
