Program Description

This one day conference is designed to offer current information for the health care professional working with pregnant and lactating women and their families. Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

·  Educate a breastfeeding family

·  Triage a breastfeeding problem

·  Facilitate basic breastfeeding situations to meet the needs of the infant and the family unit.

Who Should Attend? 

Health Care Providers...

· Interested learning the latest in breastfeeding best practice

· Interested in learning how to best support their breastfeeding moms. 

· Looking at ways to counter the barriers to breastfeeding.

· In a nutshell, anyone who works in health care or in the critical areas where a breastfeeding mom could benefit from support, should plan to spend a day learning with Gini Baker.

About The Faculty:

Gini Baker, RN, MPH, IBCLC is an internationally recognized lactation professional and has spoken in many countries. She is a practicing lactation consultant with over 20 years experience in triage and management of breastfeeding in normal and compromised infants. She is the program developer and primary clinical faculty for the UCSD lactation education/ counselor, lactation specialist, and lactation consultant training programs. She is actively involved in several professional organizations including ILCA .  Gini is
a past board member of Lamaze  International.

Classroom temperatures are variable. Thin layers and sweaters are encouraged for your comfort.
*Any at-the-door registrants will not receive lunch.  If you register on the day of the event, please plan to bring your lunch or make other arrangements.
